Starting January 27, 2025, Microsoft will implement significant changes regarding unlicensed OneDrive accounts and their associated data. In short, Microsoft will begin automatically archiving content within OneDrive accounts that have been unlicensed for 90 days.
The impact? Additional storage fees that can quickly add up to hundreds of thousands of dollars in unnecessary costs, or user disruption due to the automatic archival of relevant, active data.
